Your PSA needs you!
Our intension is to serve you as our members and to make the PSA the greatest tribe you could hope for. In order to do this we all take our turn at investing our time into the PSA and to give back some of the support we have felt over the years in our own businesses.
“The PSA is such an important resource to me that I took the opportunity to give something back.” Nathan Littleton – Past President, Chair and Communications Director
“Volunteering within the PSA allows me to influence positive change for our members.” Mike Pagan – Past PSA Foundation Director, GSF Representative.
Our Association has BIG plans for growth and development, and our member’s needs shape our strategy. But it is our volunteer network that brings that strategy to life.
How could you play a part in the future of the PSA?
We are recruiting for various roles. Some are Board Roles (Phase B) whilst other are really important support roles. These opportunities are not determined by your membership level or your time as a PSA member but by the creativity, expertise and commitment you can offer. Some will, however, require an additional level of PSA specific experience.
We have opportunities that could work for you if you are short on time but want to get involved, as well as more in-depth roles, such as Board Directors, that typically require up to 3 to 4 days of commitment per month. So, there will likely be an opportunity just right for you.
Please note that applicants may only hold one role at a time. To reduce the risk of conflicts and avoid unmanageable workloads, we are unable to support individuals taking on multiple positions simultaneously. We encourage you to apply for the role that best matches your interests, skills, and availability. Recruitment happens annually so if you are already in a role you can check again next time.
If that wasn’t enough!
It’s widely reported that volunteering is great for both personal and professional growth, with some of the most reported benefits being:
- Volunteering connects you to others.
- Volunteering is good for your mind and body.
- Volunteering can advance your career.
- Volunteering brings fulfilment to your life.
- Volunteering increases happiness levels.
We’re recruiting now!
We’re looking for dedicated and enthusiastic members to join our team in the
following key roles:
- Membership Upgrade Coordinator
- Speaking Competitions Co-ordinator
- Professional Membership Representative
- Accounts Scrutineer
- GSF Representative
- Ethics & Safeguarding Officer
- Executive PA to the Chair
For the next 2 years, we want to put our foot on the GAS.
G = Grow your speaker business and Grow the PSA
A = Add Value to all memberships at every level
S = Simplify – making our systems and processes simple, easy to follow and cost effective.
Director roles will be advertised over the next few months. Please watch out for further announcements.
These roles will be crucial in shaping the future of our Association, and we need your skills, passion, and commitment to help us continue to thrive! Please click the links above to learn more about each role, and if you have any questions, reach out either the current role holder who will be happy to chat through what is involved; contact any of the Board Directors that you have a connection with, or contact the PSA Chair Yvonne Emery at [email protected] or 0333 444 8910 to leave a message for any of the Board.
Taking on a volunteer role within the PSA as a Director or as a Co-ordinator is an incredible opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of our Association. Not only will you be positively impacting the professional speaking community, but you’ll also have the chance to develop your leadership skills and expand your network.
Additional roles, including Board positions, will be shared in due course. We look forward to receiving your applications and working together to make the PSA an even better tribe – if that’s possible.
And in case you were wondering…
The PSA is committed to continuing to make diversity, equity, and inclusion part of everything we do. We welcome applications from all interested parties, and all qualified parties will receive consideration without regard to sex, gender (identity or expression), age, race, disability, religion, sexual orientation, pregnancy or marital status!
Come and join the team. Looking forward to working with you.
