Global Speakers Federation Representative
Term – 3 years from July 2026 to July 2029
This position is only open to current or previous Board members of the PSA UK & Ireland.
If you would like to represent the PSA UK & Ireland on a global stage and strengthen our connections within the wider speaking community, then this position might be for you.
We are seeking a Global Speakers Federation (GSF) Representative to act on behalf of PSA members and the Board at international GSF meetings. This is a 3 year post and engages with all the other GSF Associations.
Currently we are the largest Association and that allows us a position on the steering committee along with the Canadian Association of Speakers and the German Association and this means you will be part of the decision making body for all the speaking associations within the Global Speakers Federation.
This voluntary role ensures that the PSA is actively represented within the GSF, contributing to global discussions, initiatives and decisions, while keeping our members informed and connected to international opportunities.
About You
You are a confident, professional PSA member, and previous or current Board Member with international awareness and strong communication skills.
- You have experience representing a group, organisation, or community in a professional setting.
- You are comfortable engaging with international colleagues and attending virtual or in-person global meetings.
- You understand the PSA’s mission, values and priorities and can represent them with clarity and professionalism.
- You are organised, proactive, and able to report back to the PSA Board and members effectively.
- You are diplomatic, collaborative, and able to build strong professional relationships across cultures and countries.
Whilst this is not a Board position, you will be required to attend board meetings quarterly to update the board with any GSF initiatives and to be regularly in communication with the chair of the Board.
Experience in international networks, volunteer leadership, or professional speaking organisations is desirable but not essential.
The PSA is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion and welcomes applications from all suitably qualified candidates, regardless of background or identity.
The Role
This is a voluntary representative role acting as the PSA UK & Ireland voice within the Global Speakers Federation.
Responsibilities include:
- Attending GSF Board meetings and other relevant meetings as the PSA representative.
- Acting as an ambassador for the PSA, promoting its values, members and initiatives internationally.
- Reporting back to the PSA Board on key discussions, decisions and opportunities arising from GSF activity.
- Keeping PSA members informed about international initiatives, collaborations and events.
- Liaising with other GSF representatives to foster collaboration, knowledge-sharing and joint projects.
- Supporting the PSA Board in aligning GSF activity with strategic priorities and member interests.
Why This Role Matters
Global engagement strengthens the PSA’s position, influence and opportunities within the international speaking community. As GSF Representative, you will ensure the voice of PSA UK & Ireland members is heard globally, facilitate international collaboration, and bring insights and opportunities back to the Board and membership, reinforcing the Association’s role as a leading professional speaking body.
If you are interested in this role please speak with our current GSF Representative, [email protected] or alternatively contact our PSA UK and Ireland Chair: Yvonne Emery: [email protected] or call 0333 444 8910 to book a consultation.
The PSA is committed to continuing to make diversity, equity, and inclusion part of everything we do. We welcome applications from all interested parties and all qualified parties will receive consideration without regard to sex, gender (identity or expression), age, race, disability, religion, sexual orientation, pregnancy or marital status.
Applications will open on 8 May and close on 23 May. Following the application deadline, interviews will take place between 25 May and 12 June.
The deadline for applications has now passed.
