About this event
This is not just a community.
It’s a shift in how we understand people.
This month:
Workshop – Sam Warner: Gig Sheets/checklists
Running a speaking gig smoothly takes more than a good presentation. In this practical 25-minute session, professional speaker and communication specialist Sam Warner shares how to use a Gig Sheet as both a speaking checklist and a professional agreement.
Attendees will learn how to reduce stress, avoid common event problems, clarify expectations early, and create a smoother experience for both speaker and client.
The session includes a guided walkthrough of a real-world speaker gig sheet template, followed by a hands-on activity where attendees begin adapting their own version for future events.
Key Takeaways
- How to prevent common speaking gig problems before they happen
- The essential information every speaker should collect before an event
- How to reduce assumptions and miscommunication with clients
- Why logistics matter just as much as presentation skills
- How to protect your time, energy, footage, and intellectual property
- Ways to create more accessible and neuroinclusive speaking environments
- How to turn experience and past mistakes into a reusable professional system
- Practical tips speakers can implement immediately for smoother events and better client relationships
In this practical and thought-provoking keynote, Charlie Hart explores how intersecting identities—particularly neurodivergence and LGBTQIA+ experiences—shape both speakers and audiences in meetings and events.
Designed for professional speakers, this session goes beyond awareness to focus on real-world delivery: how to create inclusive audience experiences. Charlie draws on their lived experience (autistic, neurodivergent gender noncomforming and bi/pan) to unpack why traditional speaking norms can unintentionally exclude, and how small, intentional shifts can make events more accessible, engaging, and impactful for everyone—especially those navigating more than one marginalised identity.
This session will include Slido polls and Q&A.
Key Takeaways
- Understand more about identities, and how they intersect to form complex profiles of marginalisation and/or privilege, and why this matters in speaker–audience dynamics
- Awareness of how overlapping identities can compound exclusion—and how to respond with inclusive, human-centred approaches
- Language and strategies you can apply immediately
