About this event
Exploring the Art of Connection in your speaking business.
August might be the month of Summer holidays when some of us head for the beach, but if you’re serious about growing your speaking business, this is one meeting you won’t want to miss!
We’ve lined up an evening that takes you on a journey – from rediscovering the deeper purpose behind your work, all the way through to the practical strategies that turn one-off bookings into lasting client relationships. Plus, we’ll be hearing from one of our own Professional Members in our showcase slot.
Come ready to be inspired from every direction!
We kick off with legacy advocate Louise Camby, who will challenge you to ask yourself these really thought-provoking questions: What legacy will you leave behind? What will be the legacy of your work?
This isn’t a philosophical detour – it’s a practical, energising workshop that shows how a clear sense of legacy can strengthen your brand, deepen your audience connection, and open doors to speaking opportunities you might not have considered.
You’ll leave the first half of the evening with fresh ideas, a renewed sense of purpose, and more than a few “I’ve never thought about it that way” moments.
Then we welcome our headline speaker: PSA Fellow and Hall of Fame inductee Lee Warren, visiting faculty for the University of Oxford, award-winning author, and one of the most trusted names in professional speaking.
Lee’s keynote masterclass, “Turning Gigs Into Clients”, gets right to the heart of what separates speakers who hustle for every booking from those with a diary full of returning clients.
Drawing on 15 years of experience at the top of the profession, Lee will show you how to price for repeat business, how to communicate before, during, and after the gig, and why every event gives you not one but two audiences to win over.
If you only make it to one PSA Thames Valley meeting this Summer, make it this one!
Louise Camby | Your Legacy Workshop
What legacy will you leave behind – and what’s it got to do with growing your speaking business? More than you might think. In this engaging, interactive session, legacy advocate Louise Camby will help you explore how a clear sense of legacy can deepen your purpose, strengthen your brand, and create new speaking opportunities.
Through practical exercises and discussion, you’ll discover that legacy isn’t something you build after you leave the stage – it’s something you’re building right now with these three take-aways:
- Your Legacy Is Being Created Right Now
- Your Greatest Legacy May Not Be What You’re Known For
- Legacy Can Grow Your Speaking Business.
Lee Warren | Turning Gigs Into Clients
The ‘holy grail’ of professional speaking is repeat bookings, but many speakers work from gig to gig, always searching for the next event and the next client. They have to build trust and credibility from scratch when they could and should be focusing on turning those ‘gigs’ into lifelong relationships.
In this keynote masterclass Lee will share his experience from over 15 years of professional speaking to help you turn ‘gigs’ into ‘clients’.
Expect practical strategies on:
- How to look for the right opportunities to turn gigs into clients
- How to price yourself accurately for repeat business
- How to communicate before, during, and after the gig.
- Why you always have at least two ‘audiences’ and how to deliver for both of them
- Building relationships with different types of bookers, such as bureaus, event managers, and direct corporates.
