About this event

Our February PSA Scotland West event focuses on Turning Speaking into a Paid Business, offering practical guidance for anyone building a speaking career. This session is suited to professional speakers, aspiring speakers and those who use speaking as part of their wider business.

We begin with a training session from PR specialist Lindsay Reid, who will explain what PR is, how it can support business growth and the channels that help speakers raise their profile and credibility. Attendees will learn how PR works in practice, which avenues are worth focusing on and how to start building visibility from where they are now.

Our professional speaker session features RTS Scotland Award-winning presenter Jennifer Reoch, who will share her journey across television, radio and live events. Drawing on work with major broadcasters and well-known programmes, Jennifer will talk about the skills she had to develop, the realities of early pricing decisions, the lessons learned along the way and how she has built a sustainable speaking and hosting career. She will offer clear, actionable guidance for anyone serious about building a paid speaking business.

Across both sessions, attendees will come away with practical insights on developing core speaking skills, understanding their value, improving their visibility and positioning themselves so the right opportunities can find them. Alongside the content, the event includes time to connect, network and support our Member Spotlight speakers as they take the stage.
