About this event
Our March meeting promises to be one of the highlights of the PSA North West calendar.
We begin with our Emerging Speaker of the Year competition – an evening of inspiration, courage and brilliant storytelling.
Come ready to be entertained and uplifted as some of our Associate members step forward, take the stage, and showcase their talent in a bid to represent the North West in the ESY semi-finals, held the evening before the Impact! Conference in Leeds this April.
Supporting speakers at this stage of their journey is one of the most important things we do as a community, and this is always a special part of the year.
We’ll also enjoy a showcase from Adrian Dakers.
In the second half of the evening, we are delighted to host our Fantastic Fellows Panel.
Here in the North West, we are fortunate to have some of the most respected PSA Fellows in the organisation.
We’ll be putting them firmly on the spot and drawing on their collective wisdom, years of real-world experience, lessons learned the hard way, and insights you simply won’t find in a book.
The “Fantastic Fellows” panel all have decades of professional speaking experience and will be made up of:
David Abbott – International Pricing Speaker, Fractional CMO
Chris Davidson – Website optimization, SEO and engagement expert
Heather Wright – Leadership, Teamwork & Performance Speaker, Trainer, Coach
Kate Trafford – Master Coach, Author, Speaker on Thriving Leadership & Growth
Sue Evans – People & Process Performance Specialist, Speaker & Coach
James Perryman – Leadership Development Speaker & Event Host
Penny Haslam – Speaker on Effective Communication, Author, Panel Host
If you have a burning or long-held question you’d love to ask, you’re very welcome to email it to our North West President Cat Williams in advance, so our Fellows can come fully prepared to deliver maximum value.
This is a session not to be missed, whether you’re early in your speaking journey or looking to refine and elevate what you already do.
Keynote speakers
David is an international speaker, helping audiences to discover simple ways to improve their pricing.
After studying Engineering Science and Economics at Oxford he worked in marketing and business management. He ran a £56m mail order company where pricing is crucial, and has held senior marketing roles in a wide variety of industries. He currently helps clients develop and execute marketing strategies that help them to out-compete their competition.
He applies psychology research into consumer behaviour to business and marketing. He illustrates everything with real examples of marketing in action.
Chris started working in IT before the term ‘information technology’ existed. He founded his consultancy, Active Presence, in 2002 and launched the annual Worldwide Digital Footprint Survey in 2017. The survey reports are challenging and have motivated many speakers to take action to improve their online image.
In February 2023 Chris published Why Your Website Doesn’t Work. This is the lead title in a collection of books under the Website Wisdom banner. He published the second title, Websites for Business Managers, in November ’23.
Also in 2023, Chris launched a new service, Easeo (pronounced ‘ease-oh’), standing for Easy Affordable SEO. This service helps business owners optimize their websites in a cost effective way.
Websites are easy. Effective, highly engaging business websites are hard. Having one will make your life better and your business more successful. Chris can help you. Ready?
Heather has made it her mission to learn as much as she can about the psychology of influence and translates this into accessible content, delivered in a way that changes lives.
She’s an inspirational speaker and facilitator delivering speeches and workshops to public services and large multinational companies in the UK and across the globe. Heather has an excellent reputation for her professionalism and pragmatism and she has enough energy to run a small power station!
Kate Trafford is a Master Coach, TEDx speaker, Fellow of the PSA and the author of ‘Get There, Love Here! The busy professional’s guide to authentic, enjoyable success’.
Kate has over 25 years’ experience delivering bespoke programmes for clients such as Serco, Turner & Townsend and Google – helping talented leaders and experts like you drive for big results AND enjoy the ride…
Sue’s mission is to get busy people fixing tough problems.
She’s led programmes which more than doubled productivity within two international businesses, and delivered £1.9M waste reduction in under 5 months, with a zero spend. She’s used to delivering big results from little budgets.
Sometimes a compelling business case or well-presented plan isn’t enough. Changing mindsets and behaviours isn’t easy – that’s why so many performance programmes give patchy results. Bucking that trend, Sue’s signature blend of continuous improvement and behavioural science underpin massive performance breakthroughs.
James Perryman is a speaker, trainer and coach, working with individuals and businesses to help them discover their potential, and increase their performance. These businesses include O2, AO.com and Aston Martin F1.
Prior to this, he enjoyed a 20-year career consulting and delivering change across the span of business areas, engaging with leaders and influencing a culture of growth and development.
In addition to speaking at events, James provides one-to-one coaching to increase people’s resilience, productivity and self-esteem, and runs training courses to a wide variety of clients focussing on communication, management, leadership, high performance and customer excellence.
James brings together his knowledge, skills and own experiences, professionally and personally, to show how self-awareness, self-belief and courage can bring enjoyment and success today, rather than waiting for it to happen tomorrow.
Penny Haslam is an award-winning speaker, coach and trainer on the subjects of Communication and Confidence.
Her business, Bit Famous, develops the communication capability and confidence of leaders and emerging talent in some of the world’s largest organisations, particularly in technology and finance sectors.
