Your Regional President that is… And this month we’re all about delivery!

We will be delivering a warm welcome to 2 legends of the speaking world, who in turn, will help us all deliver better on stage.

First up is Simon Raybould, who will be teaching us a handful of tricks and tools to make our presentations better based on his experience of teaching this stuff for over 15 years. Some are easier than others, but all can be handy tools for upping our delivery game.

By the end of this keynote, you’ll have a handful of tools you can apply to your presentations to make them just that little bit better.

Next up will be John Hotowka – Prop Up Your Presentation

John will deliver a masterclass in how to use props, puzzles and stunts to make your message memorable and inspire action.

Speakers need to communicate their message not only in an engaging way, but also in a way that is memorable so action will be taken.

Stories and metaphors are usually used to help our audiences understand and remember the points to be made. To make a message stick in their hearts and minds sometimes something even more powerful and effective is needed.

In this interactive session you will learn:

Which props, puzzles and stunts to use, when and how
How to use a prop, puzzle and stunt as a metaphor
How to make your point and message memorable
How to increase audience engagement and interactivity

Simon Raybould

I’m a speaker and author. I started out as a trainer, specialising in presentation skills and over seven years or so I collected a great many tools, tips and techniques for dealing with the nerves of performing, particularly during presentations.

After a while I found myself working with a broader-based soft skills training company called Aware Plus. At Aware I was introduced to the basics of things like positive psychology and so on. (I ended up doing an awful lot of stress management training which is a good place to start but not the whole story.)
Over the years I integrated those – and using my training as a researcher (did I mention 24 years research at university?) I developed them. Some of what you will read here is therefore new, some of it is tried, trusted and tested.
