About this event
To finish the year with a bang, we have an early Christmas gift for members and guests, with a keynote from George Anderson and Workshops from Charlotte Jones and Carol Benton.
Even better value than a satsuma at the bottom of a stocking!
George Anderson – ‘Speaker Business Success – By Design’
Do you sometimes get frustrated by a lack of consistent progress with building your speaking business? Have you listened to the experts and know what you should be doing… but don’t always actually do it?
In this keynote, George brings concepts from his book By Design Not Default into the world of speaking, showing how to install the habits that drive consistent progress. You’ll walk away with practical tools to grow your business, get clarity on what to focus on, and design sustainable systems that actually work.
Key takeaways from George’s talk:
- Identify the high-impact habits that create momentum in your speaking business, and discover how to stay consistent even when no two days look the same.
- Shine a light on the uncomfortable truths that are holding you back from your potential… and what to do about them.
- Recognise and overcome the common derailers that stop speakers from moving forward.
Carol Benton – ’10 seconds to opportunity!’
Have you ever fumbled and got tongue-tied when someone asks ‘What do you do?’ Do you struggle with how to introduce yourself at meetings?
The 10 seconds where you introduce yourself can, believe it or not, uncover opportunities that you didn’t even know existed. The trick to uncovering them? Knowing what to say in that 10 seconds and having it run confidently off the tip of your tongue.
In this practical, hands-on workshop, Carol will share a structure for success and give you the chance to practice and receive peer feedback.
Key takeaways from Carol’s workshop:
- Elevate your elevator pitch
- Focus on value and customer outcomes
- Speak your audience’s language
Charlotte Jones – How can the strategies for rowing well also be used for speaking well?
Charlotte is passionate about rowing. For her, rowing is all about having strategies in place to row efficiently and effectively, and to do so with drive and passion. How do you achieve that? And how does that connect to speaking? These are the questions she will explore in her workshop, where she will focus on the mind–body connection.
As both a rower and a coach for women experiencing fatigue and burnout, Charlotte brings many tools and techniques to her rowing practice and to her clients. She speaks to rowing clubs about topics such as managing stress and anxiety at the start of a race, and she also provides nutritional guidance.
As a physiotherapist, nutritionist, and author — and having experienced and recovered from chronic fatigue herself — Charlotte brings a wealth of knowledge to this workshop. She looks forward to sharing the strategies that have helped her, in the hope that they will help others too.
