About this event

This month it’s about what happens when you strip speaking back to its rawest form, the stories we tell and the grit it takes to keep telling them.

Two keynote speakers, worlds apart in style, both proof that the best stages are built on honesty.

Keynote: Stage Alchemy™: Strategic Storytelling that Wins Hearts, Minds and Clients – with Sarah Archer

Most speakers believe they can tell a story, but very few are true Stage Alchemists, speakers who can share a story in a way that connects deeply, shifts beliefs, and quietly sells their expertise in a seamless and classy way.

Sarah Archer combines 20 years in senior HR and organisational change with more than two decades as a stand-up comic, writer, director and performer. She’s the host of The Speaking Club podcast, ranked in the top 5 public speaking podcasts and the top 1% of podcasts globally.

You’ll leave with:

  • The different types of stories, and how to identify the one you need to share
  • A way to map your stories to the problem your audience cares about most
  • The structure, strategy and confidence to build stories that get you remembered, referred and booked

Bite-sized Keynote: Blood, Sweat and Wheelchairs – with Aaron Phipps MBE

A micro version of Aaron’s full keynote, charting his journey from primary school assemblies to main stages, alongside the ups and downs of speaking over the last 10 years and competing as an elite athlete.

Aaron Phipps MBE is a three time Paralympian and gold medal winning champion from the Tokyo 2020 games. He plays Wheelchair Rugby, aka Murderball, and in 2016 became the first person in the world to scale Kilimanjaro on his hands and knees. He’s been voted in the top 100 most influential people in the UK with a disability.

You’ll leave with:

  • How to navigate this slightly bonkers world of professional speaking
  • Honest guidance on pricing yourself without underselling your value
  • Quick, practical tips to help you avoid the early mistakes Aaron learned the hard way
