About this event

Speaking more and speaking better comes from both the heart and the mind – and we have plenty to enhance both in April’s PSA Birmingham event!

Our meeting begins with refreshments and networking from 6.00pm, (though RP Phil Ingle be there from about 5:45pm) with a prompt – and slightly earlier – 6.20pm start with our speakers.

We will begin with a showcase from an up and coming PSA Member, Larissa Gray– we can’t wait to see Larissa speak!

Then we delighted to welcome PSA Chair Joanne Lockwood, presenting Zero to Hero – building a speaking business.

Joanne says:

“The first advice I was given by a PSA member before I joined was to change my LinkedIn profile to “Professional Speaker” and simply go for it…

If only it was that easy… 6 years in, I will share what worked, what didn’t and give you some take aways to inspire you to think about building you own speaking business or growing what you have.

I will talk about building brand you, social selling, building your portfolio, being easy to work with and inspiring for your audience. It’s what we all aspire to, isn’t it?

What ever your stage of speaking I will offer some nuggets and “just one thing” for you to take away!”

Then, after a short break…

Our leading Keynote this month comes from the fabulous Sue Richardson, who will be speaking on “Your Legacy in Black and White: How to create the book to get you booked”.

They say that every speaker needs a book and there are many speaker books out there that are little more than glorified business cards. Independent publishing consultant and award-winning non-fiction publisher, Sue Richardson believes that the right book, well written, designed, published and distributed will lend you kudos, give you influence and help you make a difference to your world and the lives of others. By committing your passion and purpose to black and white in a book of quality, you will not only attract new opportunities – you will be creating a legacy you can be truly proud of.

Key takeaways you can expect from Sue:

  • How to craft your unique message that is aligned with your purpose and story
  • How to build the business case for your book
  • How to create the right book to get you more bookings

Join us for a fun, valuable, and exciting interactive event with lots of learning and some fab speaking, at our new venue – The Arden Hotel, Coventry Road, Bickenhill, Solihull, B92 0EH. This is right next door to the NEC, walkable from Birmingham International Station and seconds from the M42.

This promises to be an incredible event that will add some real value to you and your speaking business, so get your tickets early to avoid missing out!
