About this event

PSA East Midlands is back for May, and this one is all about helping you become a speaker who truly connects and delivers impact.

Fresh from PSA Impact! 2026 in Leeds, we’ll be bringing key insights and takeaways straight back into the room, so whether you attended or not, you’ll benefit from what’s been happening at a national level.

Showcase – Double the Value

Our showcases are one of the most powerful parts of our meetings. It’s where members step up to share part of a talk or workshop and receive structured, high-quality feedback from the room. It’s helped speakers take their content from great to exceptional.

This month, we’re bringing you a double showcase, giving you even more opportunity to learn, reflect, and apply ideas to your own speaking.

Stronger Together

As a region, we’re embracing Stronger Together as our focus for the year. It builds on the PSA UK & Ireland theme of the ‘Art of Connection’, bringing it to life through how we support, challenge, and grow alongside each other.

This focus reflects what makes this region special – a community committed to helping each other grow, improve, and reach their full potential.

Keynote: Caroline Cavanagh – Anxiety is a Good Thing When You Give It Leadership

As speakers, we can become desensitised to the anxiety many delegates, coaching clients, and audience members feel when asked to take part in an activity, be the voice for their group, or even interact with others.

As speakers, we are so familiar with our content that we can lose awareness of how far we are asking our listeners to step out of their comfort zone.

As speakers, we aim for our listeners to take action based on what they have learned. But is anxiety going to stop them?

In this talk, Caroline will help us explore how, as speakers, we can be more aware of how we deliver our material to minimise triggering anxiety and gain basic tools to help our delegates step outside their comfort zones and optimise our content.

Come for the content. Stay for the community

Whether you’re building your speaking business or refining your craft, this event will challenge you, support you, and help you move forward.

Caroline Cavanagh

Caroline Cavanagh believes anxiety holds untapped potential as a force for positive change. By understanding and channelling this natural response, she helps individuals transform anxiety from a burden into a catalyst for growth, motivation, and deeper self-awareness. Its energy can sharpen focus, drive preparation, and highlight what truly matters.

Through her pioneering approach, Caroline empowers people to decode anxiety’s hidden messages, building lasting mental resilience and enabling them to perform at their best. She also works with organisations to create environments where people thrive under reduced stress, improving both wellbeing and business outcomes.

Caroline is equally passionate about supporting young people, guiding teenagers from feeling overwhelmed to becoming confident and resilient. At her core, she is driven by a deep commitment to helping others discover their inner strength and harness anxiety as a powerful tool for growth.
