The Learning and Development (L&D) Director is a brand new role, and as such, you will have the scope to shape and contribute to its objectives within the framework of the strategy.

We seek an innovative and visionary Learning and Development Director to join our esteemed board. This pivotal role will drive the advancement and execution of our Learning and Development strategy, focusing on nurturing our members’ speaking businesses through cutting-edge e-learning platforms, mentoring programmes, and specialised interest groups. If you’re passionate about empowering speakers with the tools and knowledge for success, this is your chance to make a significant impact

Interviews for the L&D Director role will take place on 20th March between 9.30am-11am and 2-4pm. if this date isn’t suitable or convenient then please let us know and we will work on a time that can work.

About You

You are a dynamic leader with a proven track record in developing comprehensive learning and development programs. Your expertise in building and delivering digital learning solutions and your ability to foster collaborative relationships with stakeholders sets you apart. With a keen eye for identifying and nurturing talent, you are adept at creating pathways that elevate members’ expertise and engagement.

Additionally, you are an advocate for continuous learning and development within professional communities, an Innovative thinker with experience in implementing e-learning and mentoring programs, a collaborative partner who can work effectively with Regional Presidents and various teams to enhance learning opportunities, and a resourceful leader with a flair for curating and maintaining educational content and resources.

The Role

This is a voluntary role and some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and Implement a Formal Mentoring Programme: Establish a structured mentoring framework to support members’ growth and professional development.
  • Launch an E-Learning Platform: Create and implement an online learning platform that offers comprehensive pathways for members to develop their speaking businesses.
  • Collaborate for Regional Success: Work closely with Regional Presidents to tailor and deliver impactful learning and development initiatives at local events.
  • Curate and Maintain the Speakers Hub: Oversee the development and upkeep of the Speakers Hub Video Training Resource Library, ensuring access to high-quality educational materials.
  • Foster Mastermind and Special Interest Groups: Initiate and support the creation of mastermind groups and special interest communities focused on specific areas of professional speaking.
  • Promote and Maintain the relationship with the CPD Standards Authority and ensure members are supported in their accreditation process.
  • Contribute, as a Board member, to the running and governance of the Association.
  • Build a team of volunteers around you to help achieve these objectives.
