About this event

Speakers can create magic. Talks can be magical. And at our next event we are going to be spreading some magic PSA style!

So scroll down, find out more and there are no tricks, just a desire for you to come and join us for a spell!!!

Title: THE MAGIC formula for Visual aids – by John Hayns

And we are not talking about Powerpoint here!! The good use of visual aids can elevate a talk intensely, leaving a visual picture in the minds of your audience that they may never forget it. The good use of props and stunts can really get your message across.
This is going to be a very practical workshop from which you will:

  • Learn about what makes a good visual aid
  • See examples of visual aids in action and consider how you can apply them to your business
  • Learn to juggle!

John performed his first magic show at his own sixth birthday party.

He learned to eat fire whilst studying engineering at St John’s College, Oxford University, learned to escape from a straitjacket while working for a church in London and is a former Chair of The Magic Circle.

He uses all these skills and more in his communication, and in his session, he is going to help all of us to make better use of visual aids.

Title: Being a BRAINY speaker by Dr Lynda Shaw

The mind can play tricks on us! And this is the session that will help you learn all about neuroscience so that you don’t get left holding the joker!

Neuroscience is a sexy topic and brings much credibility to presentations and talks. But there is still so much neuro-nonsense out there. The problem is, some members of the audience know more about neuroscience than some presenters, so we have to make sure we are up to speed.

Lynda is a neuroscientist who is going to bust myths and also ask you individually what you need to understand about the brain in your own work and give you the answers.

This is going to be highly useful and huge fun. Oh and bring a notepad!

We are here to help anyone involved in speaking to develop their speaking skills. So whether you are a keynote speaker, or if you speak to teams, Boards, investors, children as part of your business or job role, we would love you to join us and see how the PSA can help you speak better.
