Happy New Year! A very warm 2024 welcome from our Regional President Jim Boyd and all the team at PSA Scotland.
We start the new year in Glasgow with our annual ‘business builder’ event hosted jointly by our outgoing RP Jim and our incoming RP Iain Clague. The member early bird rate expires on Sat 13th Jan so please do take advantage of this and sign-up early.
As always, you will also have time to relax, connect and network with fellow members and guests. Tea/coffee and lunch will be provided.

Following our welcome and good news we will start by asking you about your ‘PSA Value’ statement – in 2024, what do you want from your PSA events and what can you bring to PSA Scotland?
The remainder of the day will focus on your speaking credentials, understanding speaking models and how you might best get more gigs in 2024. Through a series of worksheets you will…
- Define/refine your speaking credentials including e.g. your expertise, qualifications & experience together with media coverage, your Unique Selling Proposition (USP) and others.
- Define/clarify which speaking model(s) will align with your business objectives.
- Plan how to secure more gigs in 2024 by defining/clarifying e.g. your market niche, your portfolio and target events and organisations etc.
- Draft an email for your prospective speaking clients – and send it!
We are delighted to announce that during our afternoon session we will be joined briefly by Sarah Furness MA Cantab RAF.
Keynote speakers
After graduating from Cambridge University, Sarah followed her dream to become a combat helicopter pilot in the RAF. As a Squadron Leader she led on operational combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and she was the first female helicopter pilot to fly and lead UK Special Forces missions in Iraq.
