Hello! A very warm welcome from our Regional President Jim Boyd and all the team at PSA Scotland.

We are thrilled to announce that our July event will be focussed on our national speaking competition ‘Speaker Factor’. In addition to our live Scottish ‘Speaker Factor’ heat, we will be hearing ‘How to change the world with 22nd Century thinking’ from our guest Keynote speaker Benjamin Drury – ‘The Culture Guy’. We will also have a member Showcase. Amid this value packed program, you will also have time to relax, connect and network with fellow members and guests over some food and drink.

‘Speaker Factor’ is the PSA’s national annual speaking competition with two primary aims:

  • Discovering, encouraging and nurturing emerging speakers in the PSA and speaker community
  • Giving newer speakers visibility within the Association – a platform to show other members what they can do

It’s also incredibly entertaining for the audience!

We have at least 3 of our members putting themselves forward as contenders.
If you’re not one of those contenders, there is considerable value to be gained from seeing and hearing how they’ve each crafted a compelling 5-minute talk, in order to wow the judges with their stagecraft, script, delivery, engagement and bookability – all valuable and important qualities when it comes to public speaking.

Our Scotland region winner and runner-up will be announced at the end of this meeting, ready for the finals at our national speaking summit in October.

And the value doesn’t stop there!

Our guest keynote speaker Benjamin Drury ‘The Culture Guy’, will be posing a variety of profound questions regarding personal, community and leadership opportunities – and providing his take on how to embrace these challenges with ‘How to change the world with 22nd Century thinking’.

What if we could build a society based on service, justice, generosity and the collective good? What if communities always come together to support each other and build a fairer, more inclusive world today and future generations for the next 1000 years? What if you were all cheerleaders instead of critics? What if our leaders actually chose to selflessly serve the people? What if every person had true opportunity regardless of who they are or where they lived? What if every organisation (business, charity or government) solved real problems in a sustainable, accessible way to benefit society? How different would our world be?

In his talk, ‘How to change the world with 22nd Century thinking’, our guest Keynote speaker Benjamin Drury – ‘The Culture Guy’, will provide the following takeaways:

  • Learn a model to think in a future-fit way.
  • Gain an insight into the current state of the world in particular how our view of work/business is changing.
  • Be challenged to build differently to make a better world.

Showcase: One of our members will deliver a 10min ‘Showcase’.

Tea/coffee and a light buffet supper will be provided.

Register for PSA Scotland’s value-packed July event today. It will be held at Mercure Glasgow City Hotel, 201 Ingram St, Glasgow G1 1DQ, on Thursday 20th Jul 2023.

Looking forward to seeing you there!
