Members only Afternoon Masterclass with David Abbott
This is not a talk; it’s not a keynote; it’s not a presentation. So what is it?
It’s a sleeves-rolled-up chance to get around the table with a pricing expert who also happens to be a PSA speaker. We’ll share our different approaches, learn from each other, and learn from David, who will share the details of how he decides on and then communicates his price. He will suggest improvements, share tips and overall help everyone to earn more from speaking, workshops, training or whatever you do.
Takeaways for audience:
- Find out how a pricing expert approaches pricing
- Get specific ideas and suggestions to improve your pricing
- Be enthused to try out a few things that will improve your profitability
November Evening Meeting (open to members and non-members)
This month our fabulous NW PSA community is delighted to welcome Paralympian Darren Harris with his inspirational keynote, PLUS the amazing Mark Saxby with an insightful workshop helping us to think differently about our time on social media!
Unblind Your Mind: How to Turn Adversity to Advantage – Darren Harris
Like you, Darren Harris has heard blindness described in numerous ways. Is it a physical condition or social problem? Characterised by dependence, helplessness, and incompetence? Symbolised by guide dogs, white canes, and dark lasses? Or – is there a different story to tell?
With over fifty years of experience in education, sport and business, his view is radically different. Darren gives his audiences an understanding that regardless of whether you have sight or not, blindness is a state of mind that changes how you see yourself, other people, and the world around you. He argues that “Only when you unblind your mind, do you uncover the obstacles that block your path to success.”
Darren’s fascinating and inspirational keynote will leave you with the following takeaways:
- Two types of obstacles that stand between you and your goal.
- The one element you have the power to change.
- The psychological attributes that enable instead of disable people.
- How to build interpersonal relationships that reduce conflict and build trust.
- The lifestyle practices that prevent burnout and improve well-being.
How to Get Meaningful Results from Social Media – Mark Saxby
Mark’s brilliant workshop gets to the heart of how to get results from social media. This is no ordinary social media presentation: Mark will help you develop a mindset to stop you wasting your time on social media – and achieve your objectives instead.
This thought provoking workshop will leave you understanding:
- Why a change in audience focus will ramp up your effectiveness.
- How a mindset change will help you spend less time on social media yet get better results.
- When the right time is to go in for the kiss (in a social media way, of course!)
As always, there will also be plenty of opportunity to relax, connect and network over some food and drink.
Location: The Village Hotel, 110 Centre Park Square, Warrington, WA1 1QA.
Room: “Motivation”, Lower ground floor – head towards the gym area.
Keynote speakers
David is an international speaker, helping audiences to discover simple ways to improve their pricing.
After studying Engineering Science and Economics at Oxford he worked in marketing and business management. He ran a £56m mail order company where pricing is crucial, and has held senior marketing roles in a wide variety of industries. He currently helps clients develop and execute marketing strategies that help them to out-compete their competition.
He applies psychology research into consumer behaviour to business and marketing. He illustrates everything with real examples of marketing in action.
Darren Harris is a speaker, coach and facilitator who gives people in business and education the psychological skills to overcome adversity. He works with organisations that want a fun, unique and positive perspective.
He lost his sight after he was diagnosed with cancer of both eyes. But although he couldn’t regain his sight, he could unblind his mind, which meant transforming how he viewed blindness.
A dual Paralympian, Darren is best known as England’s most capped blind footballer. But he also competed at the Games in judo.
His motto is “Your eyes are useless unless you use what’s between your ears”.
Mark Saxby is more than just ‘another social media expert’. Combining his experience as an award-winning BBC and ITV journalist with his expertise gained after setting up one of the UK’s first specialist social media agencies 13 years (and 8 days) ago, Mark and his team have helped generate more than £19.1 million in sales through social media.
Mark also founded the Positive Social charity, which goes into schools to teach young people how to take back control of their lives from social media. He reached the PSA’s Speaker Factor final in October.
