About this event
The event with everything but Yule Brinner!
This month we go tactical.
We’re kicking off with the amazing Julie Holmes (virtually). Julie’s a PSA Fellow and Hall of Fame speaker and her opening workshop will get us beyond just being speakers and beyond delivering impactful presentations to discovering the essential strategies for building a sustainable and profitable speaking business.
In this workshop, Julie joins you as a fellow speaker, ready to share the strategies she uses to build her own profitable speaking business. She loves making a difference AND getting paid to do it. Does that sound like you? Then, get ready to move beyond the stage and transform your passion for speaking into something you can not only love but also live on.
Following Julie? Brace yourselves. Down from Scotland comes Alex Owen-Hill looking at your “Authentic Voice”.
Alex will take us further along getting-gigs by looking at how we work online. As part of the session he’ll do a deep dive into someone’s social media, before the event and interview them in the room, using them as examples of the big principles of attracting attention – the right sort of attention!
But wait… there’s more!
Our Emerging Speakers strut their stuff… looking to see who’s the brightest and best of our newcomers… and then it’s our region’s Speaker of the Year (twice!) Steven Houghton-Burnett.
I mean you just couldn’t wish for a more jam-packed evening, could you!
Steve’s Keynote will share 3 foolproof delivery strategies that you can employ today to increase your bookability. He will ask audience members to work with him to show how simple changes can make a HUGE impact on their delivery and their ability to be recommended and rebooked… and rebooked… and rebooked… and rebooked…
But gosh… What a way to mark (almost) Valentines Day! ❤️
Keynote speakers
Julie Holmes is a seasoned business consultant specialising in digital transformation and organisational growth. With extensive experience in strategy development and change management, Julie helps companies navigate complex challenges and implement innovative solutions. Her expertise in driving digital initiatives and enhancing business performance makes her a valuable asset to any organisation.
Alex Owen-Hill is a multi-talented (aka indecisive) performer with a passion for speaking, clowning, improv, and stand-up comedy.
With years of improv experience and recent training at a top clown school, Alex believes in infusing top-level performance skills into professional speaking.
His transformative journey has provided him with a more nuanced understanding of authenticity on stage.
Steve’s is a “jobbing speaker” and was previously an Entrepreneur… He started one of the first five Internet Service Provision (ISP) businesses in the UK which was incidentally the first to make a profit. It grew rapidly over a five-year period and after two mergers and three additional rounds of funding ended up being sold for £300 million six weeks before the .COM bubble burst and creating 14 ‘overnight’ millionaires in the process.
He speaks about business change to corporate audiences, the highs and lows of entrepreneurial life to small business audiences and about how he went from a 2 bedroom council house as a child to having travelled the world through his business interests to students in schools, colleges and universities.
He is an award-winning speaker and is a Fellow of the PSA UK&I.
