About this event
Some things you only learn from time on stage and the people in this room, and this month PSA London have plenty of it!
This is a day for speakers who take their craft seriously. Whether you’re still finding your feet or you’ve clocked up hundreds of stages, we can all always find something to sharpen, rethink, or see differently.
This month we have the privilege of Alan Stevens, Past President of both the PSA and the Global Speakers Federation, delivering a masterclass filled with over 50 years of on-stage experience. He’ll share what makes a great keynote work, and what most speakers get wrong.
Come for Alan, stay for the conversations, some of the best learning happens in the room, not just from the platform!
Keynote speakers
Alan Stevens is a Past President of the Global Speakers Federation, and a Fellow and Past President of the Professional Speaking Association of PSA.
He’s written a bunch of books about media and speaking. His most recent book, The Exceptional Speaker, co-authored with Paul du Toit, was published in September 2013, and the revised edition in January 2021. He’s been appearing frequently on radio and television since 1979.
He set up and ran a social network, Which? Online, in 1996, which included online social networking features, years before Facebook. The Independent newspaper listed me as “one of the UK’s top ten media experts”, bless them. His great-great-great grandmother’s aunt was Mary Shelley, writer of Frankenstein. Oh yes, and his mother and father were ballroom dancing champions of London, back in 1946.
