A statement on Ukraine
4th March 2022 | By PSA Team
Even as a speaking community, sometimes it’s hard to find the right words in such a situation as the world finds itself in since the Russian forces invaded Ukraine last week.
There is tremendous sadness, fear, anxiety and compassion being felt at the atrocities we are witnessing, both for the people of Ukraine and for the innocent citizens of Russia.
Our thoughts are with everyone who has been impacted by this war, including the people of Ukraine and the surrounding countries and all those around the world with family, friends and loved ones in the region.
The Global Speakers Federation released a statement yesterday in respect of our global membership population and as your Board, we add our own to categorically state our position. We entirely condemn the actions of Putin and his government. Such acts of war, violence and genocide can never be justified and we stand with the innocent victims, their families and their communities globally.
We hope that the PSA members will continue to look out for one another and be respectful of the diverse perspectives our membership affords us, knowing that we are all on our own journey to comprehend what is unfolding and doing what we can to support and show solidarity at this time.
There are a number of ways you can support the people of Ukraine, which can be found here.
