About this event
Our mega September meeting brings two world-class Fellows and PSAE holders to the NW to share their wisdom, and two amazing Showcases.
This really is one of the must-not-miss meetings of the year!
John Hotowka will tell us how to ‘Prop Up Your Presentation’, covering how to use props, puzzles and stunts to make your message memorable and inspire action.
Speakers need to communicate their message not only in an engaging way but also in a way that is memorable so action will be taken. Stories and metaphors are usually used to help our audiences understand and remember the points to be made. To make a message stick in their hearts and minds sometimes something even more powerful and effective is needed. Tony Buzan, the father of mind-mapping, carried out studies and found the use of visual aids generally heightens retention of the spoken word by up to 70%… 70%!
Which is why using props, puzzles and stunts as metaphors to punctuate a message or point is so effective.
You will learn:
- Which props, puzzles and stunts to use, when and how
- How to use a prop, puzzle and stunt as a metaphor
- How to make your point and message memorable
- How to increase audience engagement and interactivity
